Tuesday, May 29 City Tour

(St. Petersburg, Russia) I have not walked so much for years, probably since the last time I was in Russia! Today, we experienced walking, bus tour (in English) and boat tour (in Russian). I will post pictures on Facebook whenever I get them off the cameras. We saw the major sites as we rode the bus tour. We enjoyed the beautiful weather as we rode the boat tour. Almost every other word on the boat tour was “Pushkin,” so we better learn more about Russia’s national poet!

We stopped to see the Church of the Savior on the Spilled Blood and St. Isaac’s Cathedral. We walked along Nevsky Prospect. We had light lunch from a “grocery store” and light supper at a coffee house. We shopped at the House of Books on Nevsky Prospect. Must go back there again. We bought toothpaste as a little grocery shop (with only our Russian skills!) After taking only 2 wrong-turns (!), we found our way back to the hotel about 11:30 pm.
