Associate Professor, Department of Educational Studies: Elementary and Early Childhood, College of Education, Minnesota State University, Mankato, MN. 2011 – present. Date of Promotion: 2011. Instructional assignments included complete responsibility for instruction and grade assignment for pre-service teacher education courses. Academic advising assignments include two graduate students and more than 100 undergraduate students each year.

Interim Director, Undergraduate Research Center, Minnesota State University, Mankato, MN. 2014. Half-time during Spring semester. Coordinated all activities provided by the Undergraduate Research Center, including annual Undergraduate Research Symposium, URC Council, graduate assistants, etc. Supervised budget and expenditures.

Acting Program Director, Title III Project, Alaska Christian College, Soldotna, AK, 2013 – 2014. Recommended the allocation of grant funds for special projects; trained, directed and evaluated work of project staff; prepared and administered departmental budgets; identified and provided staff development activities to enhance student services and program improvement; assisted with grant reporting for the Title III grant; managed budgets according to college policy and/or grant stipulations.

Acting Director, Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning, Minnesota State University, Mankato, MN. 2009. Half-time during Spring semester. Coordinated all Faculty Communities of Practice, CETL staff members, mentor program, peer faculty consultants, focus group research project.

Chairperson, Department of Educational Studies: Elementary and Early Childhood, College of Education, Minnesota State University, Mankato, MN. 2006 – 2008. Carried out duties of department chairperson as defined in faculty contract, including directing student advising programs, developing  and administering department budget, addressing student and faculty concerns, coordinating curriculum and program planning, coordinating department hiring activities, supervising administrative assistant and graduate assistants, etc.

Research Director (Interim), University of Minnesota Extension Service, St. Paul, MN. 2005. Coordinate campus-based staff members and consultants to plan and supervise Nutrition Education programs of $14 million (including $5 million local and state cost-share), and provide local and state leadership. Consult about business planning, staff development, public relations, and program evaluation activities.

Director, Professional & Community Engagement, College of Human Ecology, University of Minnesota, St. Paul, MN. 2003 to 2004. Direct 18.5 FTE staff and lead 200 FTE staff in delivering parent education, financial education, tenant education, and nutrition education to low-income families through community partners, including University of Minnesota Extension Service offices throughout Minnesota. Plan programs, supervise financial operations of $14 million (including $5 million local and state cost-share), provide local and state leadership. Oversee business planning, staff development, public relations, and program evaluation activities in consultation with department faculty and college administration.

Program Leader, College of Human Ecology, University of Minnesota, St. Paul, MN  1997 to 2000. Direct 3.5 FTE staff and lead 150 FTE staff in delivering nutrition education to low-income families through University of Minnesota Extension Service offices throughout Minnesota. Plan programs, supervise financial operations of $10 million (including $5 million local and state in-kind match), provide local and state leadership. Oversee staff development, public relations, and program evaluation activities.

Adjunct Faculty Member, Home Economics Education, University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, MN  1993 – 1996.  Complete responsibility for instruction and grade assignment of three-credit course. Devised and implemented course changes and improvements to include evaluation of collaborative efforts.

Adjunct Faculty Member, Curriculum and Instruction, Mankato State University, Mankato, MN 1988 and 1989. Taught course, “Introduction to Early Childhood Family Education.”  Complete responsibility for instruction and grade assignment for extended campus courses.

Adjunct Faculty Member, Education Department, North Central Bible College, Minneapolis, MN 1988. Supervised summer student practicum placement (“Early Education Practicum”) in downtown Minneapolis child care facility.

Lecturer, Education, Macalester College, St. Paul, MN  1981 – 1983. Complete responsibility for course development, instruction, and grade assignment for three semester courses. Designed and graded student exams and supervised practicum placements and student teachers.
