Traveling Across Russia

(Magadan to Moscow, Russia)

I know traveling is way easier than in the “olden days,” but traveling across Russia is exhausting. We got on a van in Magadan on Sunday afternoon at 4:00 pm (1600 for my Russian friends) and drove to the Sokol airport. Our airplane left Sokol about 7:15 pm (or 19:15). We had a one-hour stop in Khabarovsk before continuing our way to Vladivostok, where we had a 10-hour stop. We left Vladivostok about 10:30 local time on Monday morning, June 18, for an 8-hour trip across Russia to Moscow. Russia is about 11 time zones wide and I think we have covered almost all of them. That does not mean that we “know” all of Russia, however… we’ve just flown over it. We do know some individuals in St. Petersburg and more individuals in Magadan. And we like our new friends a lot. It is always difficult for me to leave Magadan, because I know that I want to return but I am never too sure when and how that will happen. Stay tuned for more…
