About

My guidance counselor in high school told me not to attend college because my test scores were not good enough.  Luckily, I had one teacher who used experiential learning in his environmental education course who strongly urged me to attend college.  It took me eight years to finish my undergraduate degree because I wanted to experience first-hand some of things I was reading about in my text books.  During these excursions away from college I trapped and radio collared timber wolves for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, worked as an intern at a nature center, and instructed outdoor adventure trips for a camp.  I knew from my direct experiences that experiential learning was more effective and have been promoting it ever since.
