•Currently serve as BSSW Program Director (2019 – present)

  • Served as University Assessment Coordinator at Minnesota State University from 2013-2019. Responsible for assisting over 140 undergraduate, 80 graduate, and all student support services programs in assessing student learning and general education curriculum, meeting regional and discipline-specific accreditation expectations (HLC, ABET, CSWE, etc), evaluating assessment data, training faculty and staff on effective student learning and program assessment methods.
    • Served as social work undergraduate Program Director from 2010-2013 in six faculty program with 250+ students. Duties included program and learning assessment, admissions, advising, budgeting, course scheduling, curriculum development and design, and management. Undergraduate social work program enrollment increased approximately 10% while BSSW Program Director. Focused program development on responding to regional social work labor force needs.
    • Successfully lead BSSW program through reaffirmation of accreditation as Accreditation Coordinator from 2008-2011. Program fully accredited for maximum cycle (2/2011-2/2019).
    • Assisted in development of distance education through out-of-region/state student practicum placements, online, and hybrid courses.
    • Skilled in policy development, analysis, and implementation at local, state, and federal levels.
    • Served as rural behavioral health consultant to White House Rural Council, National Association of Counties (NACo), U.S. Veterans Administration, U.S. Department of Agriculture, SAMHSA, Minnesota Department of Health (Integrated Behavioral Health Project) and The Carter Center.
    • Currently serve as SAMHSA federal grant reviewer.
    • Currently serve Congressman Tim Walz (1st Dist-MN) on Veterans Advisory Team and as rural mental health policy advisor.
    • Interviewed by Wyoming and Minnesota Public Radio, and variety of other media regarding rural behavioral health and rural Veteran issues.
    • Participant in several training conferences and seminars pertaining to student learning and program assessment and evaluation in higher education.
    • Taught wide variety of undergraduate and graduate social work courses with history of excellent student and peer evaluations.
    • Developed and implemented new curriculum at undergraduate and graduate levels.
    • Published in multiple academic journals on variety of social work subjects, including issues pertaining to rural social work labor force issues, ethics, and program evaluation and assessment.
    • Successfully co-managed federal Title IV-E Child Welfare grant across several years.

student professional development in program & policy development and administration in higher
education and state-operated systems.
